im sure one of the Tfw guys said we could join in with it thought. This was the other day and but i cant remember if it was hardware or nimrod to be honest.

Personaly i aint that fussed about it, but sounds like fun.

ok peeps... i think this 1 on 1 Ladder could be a real good thing for us... not only just for fun but it should enable all of us to progress those 1 on 1 fire fight skillz we all need. Also i would suggest gibbing ur opponent asap once youve shot them down as this is wats needed in-game.

Heres some rules for the GAG Frag Fest Ladder:
ive lifted these from TFWs rules... ive tweaked 1 or 2 & made the odd suggestion which imo would make it better... any other thoughts on these plz let us have them in here.

1. All games must be witnessed by a 3rd clan member who will act as referee and whos decision is final. NO ARGUMENT! Or a demo must be made and submited with results.

2. All games must be played on assault in the Axis Hanger area and will not go outside of hanger under any circumstances. (we could do 5 kills in Axis then the remaining 5 in Allies... waddya think?)

3. All players will take the class of leiutenant and have full ammo and full health before the start of a match, no giving of health or any intervention from any spectator will be tolerated during the round if for any reason there is any intervention the round will be restarted.

4. All results must be declared to a Council member within 24 hours for the result to stand, the winner will always submit results unless a Council member is with you taking a record in which case nothing needs to be done.

5. No grenades can be used (I disagree with this rule, i personally think nades would be ok as their a vital part of 1 on 1s at times... waddya think...?)

6. Strictly no clock watching to enable Spawn Killing. A Spawn kill will not be counted.

7. The match will be played 1st to 10 kills, all rounds MUST be played.

The ratings are calculated using the ELO-rating system which is the same as clan base uses so you can play an opponent as often as you like, no need to play each person in turn.

rules sound okay to me man. i agree 'nades should be allowed. one question though, what kind of handicap due to ping will be offered to U.S.A. players for this?

sounds good but wat bout people like me who use heavy wepons more than the tompson or mp40 we will b a a big disadvantage .say it was me against mr p as p plays LT most of time with the tompson an i play with the big guns i wont b any good with the small arms so any 1 on 1 would favor him , how do we get over this an dont say u got 2 practice as i 4 1 have used heavy wepons seince day 1 so no mount of practice will get me on a good level with the players who use small arm all the time??? so any ladder will favor the players who play LT medic or eng all the time an the heavy wepons boys will b at the bottom time 2 think again me thinks ??

well roods if u play LT , medic , eng u allways use the mp40, tompson or sten and u get use 2 movein with that wepon an if play with heavy wepons u r slow so your movment aint as good as if u had mp40 etc so u get use 2 difrent style of play eg u sit a round an hide a lot an hold points so if u give me an mp 40 ill aim the same but will have sh*t move ment as im not use 2 playin with them wepons c the roles ar not important 2 it

Ive seen u playing on 'normal' classes many times Wol... ok so ur used to moving around slowly... well jump on into this FF Ladder & praccy those shooting skillz at normal speed gunfire2

That at the end of the day is all im trying to do here... im simply trying to give us a fun activity that allows progression of 1 on 1 skillz. its no big deal if u favor 1 weapon or another.... ok sure heavy weapons slow u down... thats simply their disadvantage.

If we allow Heavy Weapons in this FF it would turn into a Panzer/Venom/Flaming Fest & thats not the idea at all here.

A Leu has 3 weapons to choose from... its upto u to make the most of whichever u choose.

Skum can u look into setting up a ladder table like on TFWs page plz m8....?
if we can kik this off on the weekend then great.

As far as a Ping Advantage/disadvantage for overseas players goes.... thats summut well have to discuss.. maybe a bad pinger gets a 2 kill lead to start with or summut.

sounds good to me Mrp. i dont see any problems with me getting started on a 1 on 1 thing this weekend. as a word of note to Wol, no worries man about all of this. truth is this is all about fun anyway, like boney and goks said who cares about pings what have you.

we need to have some good times and some laughs and this is a step in my humble opinion :)

yeah. lets play. I like the Lt idea cuz you get a choice of 3 weapons but everything else is the same. And the ping issues shouldn;t matter here at all. It sounds like pure fun with everyone speccing.
I bet we learn alot too about 1 vs 1 battles and who wins them with certain techniques.

As those that were there know, last night saw the launch of the 1v1 Ladder..... & i must say it went very well indeed. A coupla little teething probs at the start but we quickly sorted them out & then went on to have a fair few matches played & it seemed like everyone enjoyed it, so far a big success i'd say.

The few tweaks we decided to make were:

1: Axis hanger only... we were gonna switch to Allies half way through but this seemed more hassle than it was worth.

2: Can i just reiterate that there is no topping up of health at all... Everyone should be in spec mode apart from the 2 peeps playing, There was initially some confusion as peeps thought they could be topped up by a med after making a kill..... this is not the case... whatever health u have its upto u to keep it... this is about skillz people... so lets see em.

3: Respawning, be aware of when ur oppo is spawning in & allow him/her a few secs to top up with ammo, plz use ur common sense with this... allow ur oppo to leave the spawn room before u shoot. Theres nothing more annoying than getting Spawn killed & if anyone does this it will not count as a kill.

4: its now the 1st player to 10 Kills that gets the win.. this seemed a sensible amount last night so well stick with that.

5: u can play any player any amount of times... there is no order to play anyone in & if ur oppo is up for it u can play them ie 5 times in a row if u both want.

Not much gibbing going on last night from some players... this is all about developing those 1 on 1 skillz & gibbing them once injured is a necessity in battle... so plz people get into the habit of unloading ur clip or lobbing a nade onto them asap.

also as a side note, i have noticed our server tends to go down at 1am eastern time alot. is there a reason for this?

Well what can i say....not a very good start for me in the ladder, dunno what the problem was but my game was unplayable, hence i only played one game. Still, it seems to be better today so get yer dancing trousers on and i'll see yer all in the hanger.

Yes, it's because the server gets restarted at 5:58am GMT every day so that the settings it was started with can be re-applied. There's nothing we can do about this, all the BarryServers do it.

However, it is good in the respect that the map rotation is kicked off every morning (1am your time). When we change map directly from the RCon, the map rotation gets dropped and is only reset when the server is restarted. I'm trying to find out how to re-initiate the rotation manually from the console, but for now, the automatic restart does the trick.

So all the lieutenant and engineer tweeks i had in place when the server went down tonight while we were playin will go back to normal by itself?

I had both LT and neers recharge times set low to make praccy and 1on1's easier. I also has a passy on the server....

np m8, but if you passy the server and change these settings for for praccy, you do put them back afterwards right? :)

In all cases the server will revert to default settings at 5:58am GMT, but if you were to finish praccy at 7:00am GMT for example, the server would stay with your config all day until the following morning, unless you revert the settings manually.

Absolutely everything gets changed back m8 :D I was just concerned cause I didnt get to put it all back cause the server went offline. :cool:

i just read in your rules that you are playing first to 10 kills if this is the case does that mean u can have say a result of 10-5 or 10-4 etc its just the ELO scoring system doesnt work propely UNLESS u fight the same amount of rounds in each match as it looks for example at the fact that a low rating player may have won 4 rounds against a high rating player even if they have lost 16-4 and would probally move up in ratings.
it is my thought when i did the TFW version that we would play best of 5 rounds so u can only have 3-2 4-1 or 5-0 this way the scoring system works if i had said FIRST to 5 then the ELO system doesnt work.

anyway as it is a low ranking player will not score anything if he loses 10-0 but if u played it best of 20 and he lost 18-2 he would.
