Every interview, every press conference, they all look the same. "I'm thrilled to be the first black coach to win a super bowl." The media was hyping up the two black coaches all week long and I got just sick of it. My thought was: Do they want to be known as head coaches or black head coaches? Why is race a factor? Well, Dungy proved me wrong. Apparently, he does want to be known as a black head coach, as if it matters. Anyone else tired of these shenanigans?

Not really ... it's a media sensastionalism thing. All Dungy is doing is responding to what's thrown at him and really it's going to be big deal. sure, i'm personally tired of the hype from all of it but i'm not black so i cannot relate to it but this obviously really means a ALOT to a bunch of people. so i can respect the signifigance.

Dungy's been coaching for 25 years , it's only been 48 hours since he won the Superbowl. Let him have his moment I say.

I agree with GBP. The questions he would get our understandable. Lovie Smith got a ton there for 2 weeks because he was the first black coach to lead his team to the Super Bowl and Dungy joined him hours later.

It's a thing so they will ask. Dungy is a great person and I think it's cool that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Dont get me wrong, I love Dungy. Class guy who deserves all the attention he's getting and will continue to get. He's had a lot of heartbreaking endings to seasons and this one finally went the right way for him. I'm just tired of seeing race enter conversations where it doesn't belong.

I understand that man. Hopefully a day comes when black coaches are recognized just as coaches and not for the color of their skin. I am sure they feel the same way. :)
