Just noticed the chat bit (very nice) but I have the same problem with it as all irc. Cos of the û in my name it either doesnt let me join a room or when I get in my name is "Sh" and thats it. Is there any way I can get it to work with the û or change my name in this chat room? Cos "Sh" aint the best of names is it?

I personally dont know the answer to that question Shuey, so I sent an email to their tech support. Hopefully I hear something soon, do me a favor though just so I dont forget. If I dont get back to you soon it's because I didnt hear back from them.

Remind me tomorrow If I dont have an answer.

Thanks Roody, its quite annoying in UT actually, I have to change my player name before I connect to irc or I dont get in, then change it back when I'm in, but that changes my irc nick to Sh so I have to change the irc nick. And thats every time I put UT on.

I did in fact get a response from them a couple minutes ago. It wasnt real clear though so I responded back. I told them we were having issues regardless of their remarks. Here is there reply. I will keep hounding them Shuey. :)

it depends, if your name is non-ascii, some IRC servers will simply not let you in. jIRC will use whatever you entered to enter a chat room. Also if your PC operating system does not support that languate, you may also run into troubles.

No problem man. Im a little annoyed with how little that response told us. I waited a couple days to get a lame remark like that which contradicted what they said.

Ok I got a return response today. Looks like a search for the following is what is needed, in order for you to use the name. Here is what it said:

that is not ascii name, like i said, some IRC server does not support non-ascii name. You need to find an IRC server that support that language.

I've been looking around going to numerous servers Shuey to get an answer to this and of the 30 plus I have checked none support characters that make up your name and in most cases they tell me your name exceeds their word count limit.

Ill keep exploring, but in truth it will probably be hard to find.

No worries man. If I do come across something I will let you know, but that would certainly explain why you have had troubles with your name in IRC servers.
