Do you have programs running in your startup that you dont know what they are? I came across this list today which breaks down alphabetically lists of items that can start up when your computer is turned on.

Check out the list and see what is and isnt safe to remove.

good list...

i myself just disable everything, except for the virus scan commands... and one other: wallmaster, that changes my wallpaper on startup...

besides that, i dont start with anything else (except for the services of course... and i have most of those set to manual or some disabled...)

my computer starts up very quickly...

yeah im in basically the same boat as rob. i turn everything off, i leave nothing on. if theres something that NEEDS to be run at startup for the sake of my computer, it starts up even if i turn it off (like system or startup or whatever theyre called) so my startup is way fast too.
