Im sure I'll try 3D mark just to see what it comes out like, but with my non-DDR ram and my non-XP 1.4 Athlon they gonna be low numbers fo sure.

The raw power this card has is unbelievable!
I can run UT2003 at MAX EVERYTHING/1024x768 at over 80FPS! :buttrock :nod

With the lessened details I play wolfy at, I can consistantly run at over 200FPS! :buttrock :nod

and then after 9 or 10 here (3-4am there).
Unless I know someone is going to be there, I'm not just gonna go play on a UK server... the ping sux and I'm not a big fan of CTF.

We've just upgraded to fluffy xp, 2.6+cpu, 1024 DDR, 160Gb HD, a dvd re writer, and DA DA....a G force FX 5200, and it rocks. :D

How much did it cost? Looks like I'm in need of plenty of stuff on my computer.

A new cable company.
New video card.
New microphone.
And a new retractable cup holder on the box thingy. lol.

fx = 400 dollars
radeon 9800 = 400 dollars (and wont fry simply because of a simple scrren saver :D)

radeon 9700 = about 250 dollars

Go to www.pricewatch.com/ and click video cards, then GeforceFX5200 128mb and you'll see a ton of pages listing different brands of FX 5200 boards... quite a few are less than $100. Sounds like the FX5200 is like the "MX" version...

LOL Sioux... Nobodys callin that card crap. It's a whole generation newer than mine :) and I AM happy for ya.
Keep in mind that we are hardware tweakers, ever striving to get the very last ounce of performance outta something. Being opinionated just comes with the territory :)

i was really surprised to see the fx in such availability now... and for soo cheap...

i guess nvidia must have realized that their product was in fact a piece of crap and lowered the price drastially

(the card was hardly able to outperform the 9700 pro, and it was almost twice as expensive...)

but now i dont even see a 400 dollar price on there... i think you must be right, the fx 5200 must be like their mx models...

I think it has to be... almost none of them even have a fan on the GPU heatsinc...
I would've got a Radeon card, but ATI has burned me too many times in the past with extremely poor drivers that I wasn't ready to trust them again ATM.
