ok, i never bought rtcw yet but i d/l'ed it from imesh and played a while ago. but then for some dumb reason i set the res. to 1600x1200, dont know why tho. now wolfy wont load and i cant change back the res. kraut told me to use gldirect, and it said this:

gldirect does not have enough video memory resources to support the requested opengl rendering context.
you may have to reduce the current display resolution to obtain satisfactory opengl performance.

so i change the res and i get the same message.

i have played this before, so i know its not the game. anybody know of anyway to change it? here is what the wolfy console says:

Try this:
Add these 2 lines to the end of your autoexec.cfg file (located in the MAIN folder)

seta r_mode "3"
seta r_fullscreen "0"

This should make it default to a minimised window when starting. If it works you can change the resolution in options then quit. Remove those 2 lines you added and you should be good to go.

wolf console appears.

What does that mean? did you try it?

also...
C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\Main/main
is not a correct search path - there is no /main inside the \main folder.
It says 0 files in pk3 files (or whatever) cuz it cant find wolf for some reason.

Try starting it from the desktop icon first, then from start menu, and then try it by going to the wolfy folder and then double-clik on the wolf_MP icon.

Also you could D'load and install the 1.33 update and that should reset any changed stuff also (hopefully...)

i don't know why it said the whole Main\main/ thing, i clicked on mycomp/progfiles/rtcw/main/autoexec.cfg and opened with wolfsp. that's when i got that message.

and btw i forgot to mention that my sp is f'ed up, not my mp. i cant access sp through the mp window though, so that idea's out. i guess i will just install the patch, but i think i d/l'ed it before....

where would i go about getting it?

OK - I just tested it and it works just like it should.

The r_mode "?" is the gameplay default resolution.

Here are the modes:
seta r_mode "3" = 640x480
seta r_mode "4" = 800x600
seta r_mode "5" = 960x720
seta r_mode "6" = 1024x768
seta r_mode "7" = 1152x864
seta r_mode "8" = 1280x1024
seta r_mode "9" = 1600x1200
seta r_mode "10" = 2048x1536
seta r_mode "11" = 856x480 Widescreen

Nah man, uncheck the 'always use this program to open files of this type' checkbox, and open it with Notepad. Make your changes and then hit file --> save (not 'save as').
You cant open a file with wolf(MP or SP) like that, not even a map....

I dont think your meant to get to SP thru the MP screen... thats why theres a seperate WolfMP & WolfSP program icons for each game type.

OK cool, but remember you have to remove them commands you added or it will ALWAYS start minimised in 640x480 resolution :)
